This past January, four of our Professional Division students competed in Orange County Performing Artscenter's Tomorrow's Stars at the Center scholarship program in which they performed two different classical ballet variation solos in front of a panel of judges. These students are: Jordan Hammond, Karen Johnson, Quinn Mason and Steven Morse.
The Maple Conservatory of Dance congratulates Karen Johnson and Quinn Mason for qualifying for the Tomorrow's Stars semifinal round in the Classical Ballet category.
Congratulations To Steven Morse, Tomorrow's Stars 2008 Winner!
We also congratulate Steven Morse being named a Tomorrow's Stars 2008 winner in the Classical Ballet category!
As a Tomorrow's Stars 2008 winner, the Orange County Performing Artscenter will award Steven a $1,000 scholarship, season tickets to a Center 2008-09 series and opportunities to participate in master classes with world-renowned artists performing at the Center. Steven will also perform with other Tomorrow's Stars 2008 winners in a special showcase at the Samueli Theater on April 27.
Now in its fifth year, Tomorrow's Stars showcases the very best young adult performers from Southern California in music, dance and voice. The Tomorrow's Stars program is a nationally-acclaimed recognition and scholarship program for Southern California high school & university performing artists.
The Maple Conservatory would like to thank the following faculty members who helped Jordan, Karen, Quinn and Steven prepare for this wonderful opportunity: Gilma Bustillo, Alicia Head, Charles Maple, Chris Martin and Shawn Stevens.
