This past October, five of our Professional Dance Division students competed in the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards' Ballet category in which they performed two different classical ballet variation solos in front of a panel of judges, and three of our students made it to the Semi-Final round.
We are proud to announce that one of our students, Steven Morse, was chosen as one of two Spotlight Award Finalists in the Ballet category.
Only 16 dancers were chosen to advance to the Ballet category Semi-Final round in which students from across Southern California attended one of 12 auditions at various locations, including San Diego, Irvine, Riverside, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Torrance, Santa Barbara, Agoura and Van Nuys.
At last week's Ballet category Semi-Finals, the judges chose two dancers for the Finals in which Steven and one other dancer will participate in special performance with other Spotlight Awards finalists on April 26 at the Los Angeles Music Center.
The Maple Conservatory would like to thank the following faculty members who helped our students prepare for this wonderful opportunity: Gilma Bustillo, Alicia Head, Charles Maple, Chris Martin and Shawn Stevens.
The Maple Conservatory congratulates Steven Morse on being chosen as a Spotlight Awards Finalist, and we are proud of all of our students who participated in this year's LA Music Center's Spotlight Awards program!
