Be intrigued by a doll who comes to life — or does she?

Enter the fanciful world of Coppelia, ballet's timeless tale of obsession and true love tested by an eccentric toymaker, Dr. Coppelius. But things may not be what they seem when quarreling lovebirds encounter the clever creations of the mysterious Dr. Coppelius whose greatest desire is to create a doll with a soul.

Featuring original choreography by Artistic Director Charles Maple, Coppelia is Maple Youth Ballet's full-length, romantic comedy ballet that transports audience members to a 19th century fairytale village, featuring sumptuous sets and opulent costumes by award-winning designer Jenny Tomich.

This whimsical storybook ballet is a perfect family fare that all ages will enjoy. Watch as this unique Orange County experience unfolds, showcasing exceptional & talented dancers from across the Southland!

Running Time: About two hours with intermission. Refreshments & snacks will be on sale, along with our spectacular boutique!

Dr. Coppelius' Doll Making Workshop & Tea

Sunday, April 15th at 11:15 am to 12:45 pm
(Immediately prior to our Sunday performance)
At the UC Irvine Conference Center (adjacent to the Irvine Barclay theater)

A fun-filled event for children of all ages! Our Dr. Coppelius's Doll Making workshop will feature fun activities & crafts for children, a "meet-and-greet" with the characters from our Coppelia production, and scrumptious treats & delights. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite doll to the event!

The workshop & tea will take place immediately before our Sunday performance.

Workshop tickets are only $20 per person and can be purchased by calling the Maple Youth Ballet at 949-660-9930 x24.  (Note that performance tickets are purchased separately through the Irvine Barclay Box Office.)
