Trudl Zipper Dance Institute's Professional Training Program students will perform classical and contemporary dance including:

Joining the Maple Youth Ballet as special guest artists are The Calder Quartet and Yangyue Fang.

Maple Youth Ballet To Perform As Guest Artist With Ballet Etudes

The Maple Youth Ballet is honored to be invited to perform in Ballet Etudes' Winter Dance Concert & Choreographer's Workshop on Wednesday, February 25 at 7pm at the Rose Center Theatre in Westminster (view venue map & directions).

The Maple Youth Ballet will perform George Balanchine's timeless classic Valse Fantaisie and debut a new ballet by Charles Maple, Diamonds 2.5.

Guest Appearance: "Momentum, An Evening of Dance"

The Maple Youth Ballet is honored to be invited by the Los Angeles Youth Ballet Theater and Theatrics Dance Company to Momentum, An Evening of Dance on Saturday, February 7 at 8pm at the Plaza Del Sol Performing Arts Center at Cal State Northridge. The Maple Youth Ballet will perform George Balanchine’s timeless classic and "fast-and-furious" ballet Valse Fantaisie. View the flier (pdf).

Our full-length The Nutcracker production, featuring original choreography by Artistic Director Charles Maple. Past Guest Artist Performances

The Maple Youth Ballet was honored to be invited as guest artist in the following prestigious productions in which they performed Balanchine's timeless classic Valse Fantaisie.

The Maple Youth Ballet thanks The George Balanchine Trust for granting permission to perform Valse Fantaisie, to the Jacobs School Ballet Department at Indiana University for lending costumes designed for Valse Fantaisie, and to our own Shawn Stevens for lending her expertise as Balanchine Trust repetiteur by staging this "fast & furious" ballet.

South Bay Ballet
Saturday & Sunday, March 1 & 2, 2008 at the Armstrong Theatre

South Bay Ballet's annual production of BRAVO! The Contemporary & Classical Dance Experience on Saturday, March 1 at 7pm and Sunday, March 2 at 2pm at the James Armstrong Theatre at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. The program will feature original works by Lorin Johnson, Robert Kelly, Diane Lauridsen and Jon Cristofori performed by South Bay Ballet.  View the photos »

 

Dance Peninsula Ballet
Friday & Saturday, April 18 & 19, 2008 at the Norris Center

Ballet Showcase production by Dance Peninsula Ballet at the Norris Center for the Performing Arts in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Performances are on Friday, April 18 at 8pm and on Saturday, April 19 at 2:30pm.

Dance Peninsula Ballet presents its company members in classical ballet and contemporary dances choreographed specifically for its Ballet Showcase. This year's Showcase will highlight several dances choreographed by Valerie Huston, a dance faculty member at University of California at Santa Barbara. Other works to be performed have been choreographed by Marina Kalinina, DPB Ballet Mistress, Alexander Kalinin and Tita Boulger, DPB Artistic Coordinator.

Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the Alex Theatre

Ballet Russe Remembered production by the Media City Ballet on Sunday, April 27 at 7:30pm at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California. Media City Ballet revisits the depth and beauty of the Ballet Russe repertory with its daring, artistic choices, its gorgeous delivery and promise.

The program will include: Alexander Borodin's Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor, Carl Maria Von Weber's Le Spectre de la Rose, Variations from Alexander Glazunov's Raymonda, Pas de Deux from Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Shehérézade and Jacques Offenbach's Can-Can from Gaîté Parisienne.

The Colburn Dance Institute at The Colburn School in Los Angeles presents their Professional Training Program's Spring Concert on Saturday, May 10 at 3pm at the Japan America Theatre in downtown Los Angeles (in Little Tokyo between 2nd & 3rd Streets).

The program will feature students from the Colburn Dance Institute's Professional Training Program performing an eclectic mix of classical ballet and contemporary dance, including a choreographic study from Jirí Kylián's Arcimboldo, excerpts from the master works Diamonds by George Balanchine, and Raymonda by Marius Petipa, as well as the Maple Youth Ballet performing Balanchine's Valse Fantaisie.
